We are an innovative family owned company with divisions in Canada and Mexico with distribution throughout many parts of the free world, dedicated to formulating beneficial wholesome feed supplements for equine applications. Ingredients Information: Diatomaceous earth and garlic have been traditional cures for worms and other internal parasites. Garlic also has been known to deter biting flies. Ultra Booster is a feed additive designed to maximize digestive efficiency. A horse's beneficial intestinal bacteria can be destroyed or depleted and the pH of their environment can be altered during times of stress. Competition, travel and breeding or treatment with antibiotics, dewormers and other medications can cause this stress. Stress can also be created by alterations of weather, environment, feeds and water. Without the beneficial intestinal bacteria, food ferments instead of being digested. Undigested foods may then lead to situations of colic, bloat, founder and increase the possibility of developing allergic conditions.

Vitamin E and Selenium have been shown to be an important combination in reducing problems associated with tying up, poor performance and nervousness. There is also a link in their ability to limit free radical damage. Many factors lead to deficiencies of these nutrients. The report by Pagan et at. (1995) of a positive response to organic Cr supplementation in exercising Thoroughbred horses is exciting. Using a switchback design in which the horses received 5 mg/day of Cr from Cr yeast, benefits were observed in metabolic response during periods of strenuous exercise on a high-speed treadmill. During the exercise period, Cr supplementation reduced plasma glucose, plasma lactate, plasma cortisol and elevated plasma triglycerides.
Numerous University research studies have clearly and effectively demonstrated the benefits in supplementing chromium in animal diets. Some of the benefits are listed below in order to objectively evaluate the need for adding chromium to existing high quality diets.
Polynicotinate chromium is also more bioavailable than chromium picolinate. Animal research study at the University of California found that polynicotinate chromium was absorbed and retained up to 311% better than chromium picolinate and 672% better than chromium chloride. The high bioavailability means that polynicotinate chromium has the ability to deliver more of the healthy benefits chromium has to offer.
Schwarz and Mertz in 1959 were the first to identify chromium as the active constituent of the glucose tolerance factor (GTF). Although the exact structure of GTF is unknown, it is thought to be a nicotinic acid-trivalent chromium-nicotinic acid axis with ligands of glutamic acid, glycine and cysteine (Mertz et al., 1974). Chromium may have several biological functions, including activating certain enzymes and maintaining structural integrity of nucleic acids, but its main role is as the key component of the GTF which enhances the action of insulin summary, there is a growing body of evidence which suggest that chromium may be an essential trace element for livestock and poultry. All of us are aware of equines predispositions, as athletes, to tendon, muscle and osteoarticular injuries. In most cases, even though training methods thrive at achieving optimal body and mental fitness, equines remain vulnerable to damages of the osteoarticular system including the soft connective tissues (tendons and ligaments) surrounding the joints of these complex structures.

Horsetail provides organic calcium, silica and phosphorous.C- Methionine and MSM are organic sources of sulfur, a vital nutrient required for the formation of collagen, the connective tissue in the body. Proline is an amino-acid that stimulates the production of collagen and is needed to strengthen ligaments, tendons and cartilage.
D- Anti-Oxidants are a class of nutrients that protect the body from cell-damaging molecules known as free-radicals. Included in the formula are Selenium, Zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. These nutrients are also associated with tissue healing and tonification of the immune system.

G- Vitamins: Niacin, Panthotenic acid and Pyridoxine are important to help form steroids and cortisone in the adrenal glands, improving circulation, nerve function and normalizing fluid retention.

Mode of use:
Supplement the existing diet with60 to 80 grams daily of Equine Formula #1. This should be done in a fraction mode, by adding "top-dressed" to the concentrate and by adding a bit of raw honey (non-pasteurized) so the powder formula will stick or adhere to the grains and will not settle to the bottom of feeding bowls.
Note: 30 grams is approximately equivalent to 1 ounce. This means that a horse should receive 1 ounce in the morning and one ounce at night of the formula until obvious improvement shows. This regime should be maintained for at least one week and then supplementation can be reduced to once daily. If symptoms re-occur after reducing dosage, normal supplementation should be continued as was done previously. A- Vitamins: Vitamin A is needed for a healthy immune system. It is important for healthy epithelial cells (integrity of epithelial cells), fat storage and bone formation.

In a very important book entitled " Enzyme Nutrition ", Dr.Edward Howell explains How and Why, modern men and the animals he has domesticated have become so afflicted with chronic degenerative diseases.
One of the big problems has to do with the notion of "exocrine pancreas overload" due to chronic food enzyme deficiency! So it would mean that cooking food has not been all that great of a discovery! Practically speaking yes, because it offers the possibility to eat larger quantities of food than in the raw form at the same time but fundamentally it seems cooking food destroys all food enzyme leading to a cascade of events responsible for more problems than one would like to think of!
The idea behind Equine Formula #5 was to design a dietary supplement Tonic for the immune system of equines that could be alternated with Formula #4 on a monthly basis. The reason behind this regime is to "cleanse" or promote optimal liver and kidney functions with Formula #4 so metabolic wastes and toxins are more easily excreted and then, to follow up the program with Formula #5, concentrating more on the immune system. By following this two step program, we have designed a very interesting way at maintaining OPTIMAL RESISTANCE TO DISEASE!
The holistic approach here, is to tonify or stimulate non-specific immunity. There are various ways of increasing equines resistance to disease. Supplement for at least two to three months if problem is chronic as one has to think of changing "blood" quality.
This will be done efficiently only when appropriate measures will be taken to improve dietary regime adequately!
